Hockey Trivia Question of the Day
When a skater in their defensive zone shoots the puck out of play, over the glass, and untouched by the glass or an opponent player, what is the name of the penalty? Where would the following face-off be placed?
And what would happen if the puck goes into the benches, out of play, with the same qualifications listed above? Where would the following face-off be placed?
ANSWER: Delay of Game. The face-off would be at the penalized team's defensive zone circle on the side the puck left play on.
ReplyDeleteANSWER: There would be NO penalty, just a whistle. The face-off would be in the neutral zone at the circle nearest the benches, and closest to the team who shot the puck's blue line.
